HOUSTON -- Stephen Curry, who returned after missing the last two games with a sprained right ankle, banged his knee on the floor at the end of the first half and was not able to start the second half.

The Golden State Warriors star slipped while guarding Trevor Ariza at the first half buzzer and banged his right knee on the floor. He grabbed the knee and limped off to the locker room.

He returned to the court after the half and moved laterally in a test of the joint, but he stopped and shook his head toward the bench. Shorty thereafter, he headed back to the locker room, with Shaun Livingston taking his spot in the starting lineup.

Curry had six points on 2-of-9 shooting, including 1-of-7 from the 3-point line.

It appeared that Curry slipped on a wet spot, started when Houston's Donatas Motiejunas slid across the court for a few yards near the 3-point circle.

The Houston Rockets had their own issues at point guard. Patrick Beverley strained his right leg, and the Rockets announced before the start of the second half that he would not return.
